|| Choose your PATH ||

cover pic cyp We all set certain targets in our life. We want to achieve these targets, reach the destination and prove ourselves. These targets may be social, professional or personal. With the specified destination in place our next challenge comes to deciding its path. All of us have different parameters to choose this path. We choose: – Actual Path – Easy Path – Fast path

ACTUAL PATH: The path of honesty, truth, hard work and challenges. It is the most difficult of all but at the same time it’s the Best.

EASY PATH: Pulling behind / cutting the roots of others so that benchmark falls down.

FAST PATH: Taking shortcuts. Instead of building your own ladder, you dump down someone already walking and climb over him instead of a ladder. If you reach up too high, too soon, just remember your foundation stays unstable. Only actual path gives a firm foundation. Easy/fast paths do not. People following these fall down easily as the foundation collapses.

THE PATH OF TRUTH, THE PATH OF HONESTY,
THE PATH OF HARD WORK, THE PATH OF DETERMINATION,
IT’S ALWAYS DIFFICULT
BUT, ALSO STABLE.

THE PATH OF BETRAYAL, THE PATH OF CHEATING,
THE PATH OF CLEVERNESS, THE PATH OF WRONG DOING,
IT’S EASY AND FAST,
BUT, NEVER STABLE.

IT’S UPTO YOU, TO CHOOSE,

TO CHOOSE IF YOU WANT TO RISE AND RETAIN THE HEIGHT,
OR RISE AND COLLAPSE DOWN.
TO CHOOSE IF YOU WANT TO GIVE SOME TIME FOR STABILITY,
OR KEEP IT FAST AND UNSTABLE.
TO CHOOSE BETWEEN A FIRM AND STRONG FOUNDATION,
OR A TEMPERORY, WEAK AND FALSE FOUNDATION.

IT’S ALL UPTO YOU,

TO DESIGN YOUR FUTURE,
AND DECIDE YOUR DESINATION.
TO CHOOSE, WHAT YOU WANT?
AND WHICH PATH TO FOLLOW?

Nature Vs Habit

habit-1

“I do like this, I behave like this, I act like this, I react like this…. Because this is how I am”.

There are so many things related to our lifestyle, to our actions that we believe to be our very own way. We consider it as a part of our individuality & think as if we can never change it. There are times when we see our own shortcomings / negatives but we don’t put much effort rectifying those thinking that its part of our nature.

But, the fact lies in identifying the boundary line between “Nature” and “Habit”.

“Nature” – It’s our inbuilt / inherent quality, our characteristics by birth / childhood days. This is something on which we don’t have much control. Our basic behavior is guided by these & even if we make an effort to modify it, it is almost impossible to change it permanently. Somewhere in our sub-conscious, we will always be guided by it.

“Habit” – These are inculcated by us ourselves & mostly depend on the circumstances & environment around us. But, we actually have full control on these & if we want & if we try we can modify these.

Sometimes, we consider a prolonged habit as a part of our nature. So, it is very necessary to spend some time with oneself, to do some self-introspection, identify what needs to changed & classify if you can really change it?

“WE CANNOT CHOOSE OUR NATURE, UNLESS WE HAVE VERY STRONG DETERMINATION,
BUT, WE CAN CERTAINLY CHOOSE OUR HABITS”.

WAIT…Wait…wait…!!

w12

WAIT… WAIT… WAIT…!!

“Oh GOD..!! I am fed up of waiting now. How long I need to wait?

Are you listening to me?

Why am I supposed to wait so long?

Why can’t things happen fast, on time & the way I want?”

w17

Waiting – I think no one on this earth has escaped this experience of waiting. There are so many forms of waiting & so many ways of reacting to these.

The word gains significance w.r.t. time frame allotted by us. It can be based on how long it takes or how fast we want it to happen.

Waiting for few things is just natural & obvious. For instance, waiting for rain, waiting for spring, waiting for day, waiting for night or waiting for weekend. This is self created wait, just because we are longing to see the change for a particular reason. These are all pre-defined things no matter how impatiently we wait & these will happen for sure no matter we want to see that change or not. I would term this category as “ILLOGICAL WAIT”.

Then comes, routine life waiting. This one is based on punctuality, crowd, and unavoidable resistances. Waiting for bus/train, waiting in a queue, waiting for someone. This is completely unavoidable most of the times and is the most irritating one. You rarely know how long you need to wait. Some people adjust themselves to these and try to handle the situation calmly while others keep cursing the situation & the system. These are all momentary waits that distracts/ disturbs us for a while but end up soon. I would term this category as “IRRITATING WAIT”.

And then comes, the most difficult category that is totally based on our desires and expectations. This form of waiting is undefined, unpredictable, without any boundaries / time frame. At times, it relies just on imagination & belief and at times it is based on realistic goals. How well we can cope with these actually defines how patient and adaptable we are to the current situation. At times, we have the illusion of getting nearer to our target & then we realize, it’s still the same distance away.

We either keep moving with belief, with courage, with patience. I would term this category as “REASONABLE WAIT”,

Or, we get panicked, irritated, frustrated & just give up. I would term this category as “FRUSTATING WAIT”.

It’s necessary to set some goals & targets to keep yourself moving & growing. It’s inevitable to have desires & expectations. To achieve these we obviously, make some plan, do some efforts & eagerly start waiting for results. Sometimes, things flow the way we want but not always. This is where we need to understand the role of GOD, our destiny & our fate.

“KARMA KARO FAL KI ICCHA MAT KARO” – Bhagwad Gita

“Do the actions but don’t have desire for fruitful results.”

Leave those to the will of GOD, and keep moving enjoying your present.

Always remember, if you keep worrying for the future you may end up ruining your present. Learn to live the present and plan the future but never get so busy planning it that you forget living your present.

WHAT IS YET TO COME IS ALWAYS A MYSTERY,

IT’S ONLY THE PRESENT THAT IS REALITY,

LIVE IT… ENJOY IT…!!

Identifying Boundaries |-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|

BND-1

Boundary—As we all know is a dividing line, a border line that separates the two areas, a line that limits, restricts or controls movement from one side to other.

In our daily life we come across several such boundaries & these can broadly be classified as physical & imaginary. Physical boundaries are clearly visible to us & we all are very well aware of the fact that which ones we can cross and how?

But, what I want to focus here on are the “Imaginary” or “Invisible” boundaries. These are the ones which we cannot see but we need to identify them by feeling them.

B6

For instance, if we look at ourselves, we will realize that we have formed some boundaries around us. Our near and dear ones stand on one side of this & strangers & acquaintances stand on the other. In fact, there are several boundaries and depending on the level of intimacy we allow people to enter those boundaries.  Same goes, when we deal with others. Everyone has a well protected personal space & a defined distance that they want to maintain with a particular person. We need to judge this based on our relation. If we try to pass the undesired boundary/ line of limit i.e., if we try to move more close, we may appear to be interfering in their personal space. Also, if we try to maintain too much distance, it seems we don’t respect the other person’s closeness for us. In short, if we don’t identify the limits in a justified & desired manner, conflicts may arise.

B3

And now moving on to the most difficult of all boundaries….those boundaries which if not identified may land us in big troubles.

How to identify the faint boundary line between the following extremes (where one side of line is good & other is not):

Trust / Faith is Good….Blind Trust / Blind Faith is not…

Believing is good…Superstition is not..

Optimism is good… Illusion is not…

Confidence is good…Over-Confidence is not…

Taking risk is good…. Un-calculated risk is not…

Caring is good…Over-protection is not…

Showing concern is good…Interfering is not…

But, how shall I draw a boundary line between above…they are so near…yet so far… How can a normal human like me…draw a distinction line …?

B8

Looking forward for answers, suggestions, views, opinions that may help me recognize the line.

Alarming ALARMS

alarming alarms

Trrinnnn Trrinnnn … Beep Beep…Blink Blink… – Hope this is what comes to your mind when you hear about Alarms.

Wake Up Alam, Fire Alarm, Emergency Alarms are one of those few alarms which alerts us when we listen/see them. We then either respond to them / ignore them. And we all know ignoring them may get us in trouble —- Getting late at office/college, getting caught in fire or emergency & we may land up paying a lot for our ignorance.

a

b

d

Alarms are there to avoid such critical/ troublesome situations, to get cautious & alert, to act & respond to them on time and to tackle them wisely.
Now, the question is –
Do all Alarms have these sound/ light effects which get attention easily?
Or, have u ever heard of “SILENT ALARMS” too?

Let’s move from the theoretical image of alarms to the practical image. Alarms is anything which passes on a signal to be cautious, to pay attention, to be alert, as something disturbing, abnormal, dangerous awaits us. With these in mind, we can conclude that they cannot be symbolized with sound & lights only.
They can be in the form of circumstances, in the form of experiences, in the form of instances & in the form of incidences faced by us in our day-to-day life. But, to listen to these & to see these… we don’t just need our ears & eyes … but the capability of understanding the unsaid & looking at the unseen. We need to observe & we need to react accordingly.

But, how to recognize such Alarms? How can we judge? Is it worth to be so judgmental? Is it fine to keep everything under the scanner & analyze each & every person for each & every act?
Answer is of course “NO”…you cannot see everything with doubt & suspicion. But, at the same time you cannot ignore anything that seems to disturb you, that warn you, that demands your attention.
Because alarms are for warning & if ignored we may land in big trouble.
So, would just like to conclude by saying that:

Never ever ignore any alarming situation.
Develop a good vision to analyze your circumstances.
Alarms are for responding not for ignoring.
So,Wake UP friends, Stay Alert & Stay Happy…!!

COLORS OF LIFE…

CLR-2

HOLI HAI…!! Come HOLI and the streets will reverberate with the chants of Holi hai…!!

Colors will fill the atmosphere as people throw scented colors in the air and on each other showing great joy.

The legend from which the tradition of playing colors started is full of colors in itself. The story is about  Indian GOD’s incarnation on earth as Lord Krishna. HE was jealous of his soul mate Radha’s fair complexion, since HE himself was very dark. HE complained to his mother about this injustice of nature. To placate the child, doting mother asked Krishna to apply color on Radha’s face and change her complexion according to his choice. Playful and mischievous Krishna appreciated the idea and implemented it. The game of applying colors thus gained so much popularity that it became a tradition and later it turned out to be a festival.
The application of colors has in a way become an expression of love & affection.

With the festival of HOLI round the corner, the festival of colors, I thought of exploring the colors of our life.

Just as every color has a significant meaning & a different feeling, in a similar manner our life has various experiences showing us different visions & teaching us new learning.

Just as the painter combines various dark & light shades of colors to build a masterpiece painting, in a similar manner GOD gets us through sweet & bitter experiences to develop us.

YELLOW / ORANGE – is the color of sunshine

GREEN – is the color of grass & trees

BLUE – is the color of sky & oceans

RED – is the color of Rose & other flowers

BROWN – is the color of Mud

VIBGYOR – are the colors of rainbow

And we know how all of the above are correlated with each other. For instance, we need mud, water & sunshine for plants to grow. For a strong foundation, a tree needs its roots to be bonded by mud & water. If they are strongly bonded then the tree becomes strong enough to face the strong winds, heavy rains & storms.

But, this is what we see when we see the wholesome picture. Try separating out the things in pieces and you will see mud & water as dirty puddle of mud. You will see bright sun as hot sphere of fire. You will see oceans as a sinking place.

Now, coming to our lives, we all do face good and bad situations. And these bad experiences & struggles infact, makes us strong. They help us face the world with more maturity & good judgment. Too much brightness can make you blind. So, there are different shades in our lives also which make it colorful. The blend of good and bad helps us realize the importance of one over other, teaches us how to respect and enjoy the good phases and how to tackle & learn from the bad phases of life.

Have you ever observed that kids usually love bright colors, as they see the brighter sides of life that time. They are innocent and pure enough and look at their surroundings with positive outlook, trying to find happiness in every little thing around them, trying to enjoy every bite of food that they get, trying to smile on every loving word spoken to them, trying to feel the bright sunshine & the cold breeze.

As we grow up, we start understanding the significance of light colors also. It is a combination of bright & light that starts appearing good to us, because with time we become matured enough to feel the importance of both day & night, rain & sunshine, positives & negatives. To live a balanced life we need a blend of all these.

So, I would just like to conclude by saying,

“LIFE IS COLORFUL, ENJOY EVERY COLOR OF LIFE”

“AND ALSO ENJOY THE FESTIVAL OF HOLI – HAPPY HOLI “

Predicting the UNPREDICTABLE

pic-1

How often have you tried to figure out, what next..? what if..?

What’s going to happen in future?

It’s a common question and I think everyone is engulfed with such questions at some point of time. Every human tries to predict about what’s coming ahead, based on situations, based on circumstances & of course, based on experiences.

predict2

It’s always good to plan your future, to look forward for what lies ahead, to be prepared for what you may have to face tomorrow.

But, does the life moves the way we see it? – “NO”, because when we look at future we frame some ‘situation’ on our own & predict all pros & cons revolving around that. But, the thing is that the ‘situation’ itself is “UNPREDICTABLE.”

So, what we thought may not happen at all.

Now, does that mean we shall only dwell in our present & shall not bother about future? – “YES/NO”?

We cannot generalize the question and we cannot generalize the answer. We have to plan certain things. Future planning is necessary to build a steady path & stable life ahead. But, we cannot plan & define everything. So, in this quest of future planning we shall always remember that the world will not move the way we like / we thought it to be. We shall therefore, leave certain things to move the way they are moving.

Water flows at its best without obstructions. If we place our finger in path of flowing water, it swirls here and there. Same goes with life. It’s better to let it move the way it is moving, if we try to intervene it starts taking a haphazard, jumbled shape. Sometimes, we lose focus of our actual target & actual track & keep moving round & round in a confined space exploring different possibilities. At times we may also land up converting a smooth clear path into a complex, puzzled road leaving us lost & confused.

pic-3

We shall be ready to accept the fact that we don’t have control over everything and everyday comes with a new beginning, a new challenge, a new change, a new struggle, a new lesson & a new experience. We shall happily welcome these changes & be ready to accept & face whatever lies ahead.

One must always:

“HOPE FOR THE BEST, BUT BE PREPARED FOR THE WORST.”

hope for best
